The Transportation Specialist will tender orders to internal and 3rd party carriers, communicate and place orders with internal Deployment Technicians, contact external clients to schedule orders, and resolve issues within the life cycle of the job from pickup to delivery. This role will communicate information regarding the transportation and recovery of jobs to management as needed. The perfect candidate is be self-motivated, client focused, does not need to be micromanaged and works well in a team environment. The new transportation specialist will report to their manager who sits in the UK but also have daily contact with the onsite team (in Culemborg). The transportation specialists for AVR are spread out individually across EMEA but will work together when needed.


  • Overseeing and ensuring the safe and cost-effective delivery of company and customer owned product
  • Maintaining inbound and outbound routing guides and monitoring compliance regulations
  • Monitoring and reporting various carrier performance, holding periodic reviews with carriers and taking corrective action as required (based on metrics)
  • Assisting carriers and distribution centers in resolving issues regarding loading, unloading, appointments, and daily pick execution
  • Administering freight payment programs, monitoring payment processes and ensuring they are on time
  • Assisting in developing and implementing savings and process improvement programs with carriers, suppliers, warehouse operations, and other transportation providers
  • Preparing reports and other presentation materials as required by managers and leadership
  • Collaborating with product management, finance, sales, and other functional areas that touch transportation functions to facilitate reporting or other projects as needed

  • You speak English, German, and Czech and Dutch and French are huge advantages
  • Some experience in logistics or supply chain
  • Proven proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) 
  • Ability to consistently produce high quality results within tight deadlines by prioritizing, identifying roadblocks, and collaborating with colleagues
  • Ability to execute projects efficiently and effectively with limited supervision
  • You pay serious attention to detail and have high standards of accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to proactively identify and address potential issues, willingness to learn, and ability to multi-task
